Establishment of the Practice

Sputo and Lammert Engineering, LLC was established in 1988 by Thomas Sputo as Thomas Sputo, P.E., Consulting Structural Engineer in Gainesville, FL. Early clients included local residential and light commercial contractors and a select number of architects. Soon enough, Tom was engaged in the specialty design of miscellaneous metals for clients as far away as Texas.

A New Name- Improved Service

In 1994, the name of the firm was changed to Sputo Engineering and soon afterward the office relocated to historic downtown Gainesville. The number of clients continued to grow and, in turn, so did the scope of services provided.

Growth and Diversity

In July 2005, Kimberly Lammert, a former student, joined Tom in the practice. Also in 2005, the firm reorganized as a limited liability company as Sputo and Lammert Engineering, LLC.  Kim is the primary point of contact for most new and existing clients.

In 2018, the office moved from downtown Gainesville to a location with better client access, where we continue to provide excellent service.
